Today our main learning was an important basic principle that warm gases and liquids go up and cold ones go down. We made a couple of cool experiments to test this principle with both air and water. And it held true! We also learnt that this principle is the reason there is wind.
And our protagonist Maria liked to feel wind in her face while swinging. Maybe that's why everyone programmed maximum speed for the swings we built for Maria, so much so that she and her friends were often flying off the swings :)
On the EQ side we picked up from where we left last time and talked about different strategies to cope with strong feelings. We then added one more option to our repertoire - a glitter bottle. When we shake it, everything inside is in turmoil, like when we have strong emotions. And then we can breathe deeply and watch how the glitter slowly settles down, allowing our feelings to settle down as well. Everyone was really excited to take the glitter bottle home. I hope it'll be useful from time to time!
